2011 5A STATE BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
INFORMATION FOR VISITING HIGH SCHOOLS
(Please distribute to coaches, spirit squad coach,
administrators, bus drivers, radio, video, etc.)
1. All team and uniformed spirit squad buses should park at the southwest corner of the arena. (See attached directions.) All fan buses should park in the main parking lot in front of the High School.
2. There are several parking lots available for your fans. (See attached map.)
3. Ticket prices for the 2011 5A State Tournament games, as set by Arkansas Athletic Association, are $5.00 for adults and $5.00 for students. All types of Arkansas Activities Association passes will be honored. AAAAA Principals Passes are not allowed.
4. Designated “Visitor” team dressing rooms are located in the south corridor. Designated “Home” team dressing rooms are located in the west (men) and north (women) corridors.
5. “Visitor” teams will warm up pre-game on the north end of the court. The visiting bench is on the south end of the court. The “Home” team will warm up pre-game on the south end of the court. The home bench is on the north end of the court.
6. “Visiting” team will enter the court in the southeast corner of the arena. “Home” team will enter the arena in the northwest corner.
7. AAA rules restrict court access to only students in uniform (team, cheerleader, dance team, etc.). No student or fan “spirit lines” are allowed.
8. If your dance team or other spirit group desires to perform at half time of your game, contact Janet Autry, 479-632-2162. Deliver your music cd/tape to the scorer's table before your game begins.
9. Half time will be ten minutes.
10. Time between games will be 12 minutes after the court is cleared from the previous game.
11. The “Visiting” team radio area is on the concourse level, west side. There is a clean telephone line in this booth for the use of your radio crew. The number is 479-632-4473. The “Home” team radio area is on the concourse level, east side. There is a clean telephone line in this booth for the use of your radio crew. The number is 479-632-8824.
12. The “Visiting” team video area is on the concourse level, west side. The “Home” team video area is on the concourse level, east side.
13. Sportswriter work space is located at the scorer's table, and on the concourse level, east
and west sides. These spaces are not assigned, and are first come, first served.
14. The arena has wireless internet access in most areas.
The name of the network is: AHS-Arena. Please see a staff member if you need assistance.
15. Media workroom is located in the west corridor at the north end.
16. The public address announcer is located in the middle of the scorer's table.
17. Game and video production is located in the control booth above the north concession stand. Access is via the stairway located behind the box office. This is a restricted space.
18. Full food service is provided continuously in the Hospitality Room, which is located on the south concourse, overlooking the court. This is available to all tournament staff, administrators, coaches, etc. and all other school officials from all participating schools.
