The Student Council's main goal is to create a fun, energetic, and successful environment for the students of Alma High School. AHS Student Council tries to accomplish this through a variety of activities that encourage the student body to participate in their school and to make their school a better place.

Students who desire membership and/or officer candidacy in Student Council must nominate themselves by writing an essay about leadership; have a C+ (2.5 out of a possible 4.0) grade average in academic subjects for the semester immediately preceding nomination; be of excellent character and good standing in the school. Officers must also have previously served on the council for at least one semester.

Student Council is involved with many activities, such as; homecoming spirit days, homecoming dance, community service projects, powder puff football, Airedale madness canned food drive, and teacher appreciation once every month, etc.  It meets twice each month.
