Multimedia Applications I and II is a one-year course giving students advanced experience in using multimedia to merge text and graphics, as well as editing and dubbing video and sound. Applied principles are used to analyze and organize information, set up a design structure and produce special visual expressions.
Materials:
The following will be needed each day for this class:
paper and a pen/pencil
Software:
Macromedia Studio MX 2004
Morph Studio and MagicViewer
and various other programs
Assignments:
Assignments will consist of computer work, special projects, and etc. Special projects might include creating web pages, personal movies, animations, data CDs, and more.
This class is based on projects and meeting deadlines. Each assignment/project is due on deadline date and time or a grade of zero will be given. Selected computer problems will be printed or viewed on screen for a grade after the date completed. If the selected document has not been completed, a zero will result; therefore, follow directions carefully when completing and naming documents and finish all assignments on time. Make sure all assignments are saved EXACTLY as indicated in the instructions.
All assignments should be done alone unless group assignments are made. Cheating will result in a zero and an immediate loss of computer privileges.
Tardiness:
Students not in their assigned seats when the tardy bell rings will be counted tardy.
Makeup Work:
When class is missed, it is the student's responsibility to get assignments on the first day back. All computer makeup work must be done in the classroom; therefore, time should be made before school, after school, and/or during lunch to make up work. A maximum of 3 days will be allowed to complete makeup work unless other arrangements are made. In addition, if your computer skills are not efficient, it may be necessary to come in extra to make up assignments you are unable to complete in class (Assignments are due on time). If class is missed due to SDC or other punishment, the student must come in on those days before or after school to get the work finished – make-up days do not apply.
Grading:
Computer assignments, special projects, and etc. will make up 80% of the semester grade with the remaining 20% coming from a comprehensive semester test.
Classroom:
Care should be taken with the equipment and supplies in the classroom. Before leaving the classroom, students will return all books and supplies neatly to the bookshelf, and will straighten desks and push up chairs.
