TEST TAKING TIPS

bullet

Don't cram just before the test.  Study a little each day for several weeks before the test.

bullet

Be sure you understand all the directions before you begin a test.   Ask questions if you don't understand.

bullet

Be careful when you mark your answer in an answer row.  Make sure you put your answer next to the right number or letter.

bullet

Work as quickly as you can during a test.  Skip questions you do not understand and go back to them later.

bullet

Use key words, information, numbers, and/or figures to help you locate the answer.

bullet

When you are unsure of an answer, take your best guess.

bullet

For multiple choice questions, try to eliminate two answers.  Then look for the best answer between the remaining two.

bullet

Show your work on the Benchmark.

bullet

If you finish early, check the items you were not sure about.   Don't change an answer unless you are sure your new answer is correct.
