Alma Primary School Library-Media Center

The Library-Media Center is located in the middle of the school in an open setting.   Teachers utilize the library throughout the day to check out materials for their classroom.  Students have library class one day per week for 40 minutes.   Students are allowed to check out one book at a time.  Books may be exchanged from 8:00 - 8:30 each morning.  The media center uses an automated circulation system for check-out of all media and equipment.     Alma Primary School does not charge fines for late books; however, books that are damaged or lost must be paid for.  In addition to books, the library has an extensive collection of reference materials.  APS also subscribes to 14 magazines for children and 15 professional magazines for teachers and parents.

Sherrie Kuykendall is the new Library Media Specialist.    She has a B.S. in Education from Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, Arkansas.  She has previously taught 13 years in the Alma School District.  She is currently pursuing her Masters Degree at Arkansas Tech.

Janet Camden has been the Library Assistant for seven years.
