David grew up in Little Rock, and then attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Music Education, a Master of Educational Administration, and an Educational Specialist degree in School Leadership. He came to Alma in 1972 as High School Band Director, and then became High School Assistant Principal in 1976 before moving to the Central Office in 1983. He has spent his entire career in the Alma School District and has been Superintendent since 2011. He has two children, both of whom attended all thirteen years in Alma.

Mike graduated form Russellville High School, in 1974 and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education from Arkansas Tech University in 1978. He received a Master's of Education Degree from the University of Arkansas and started teaching and coaching at Alma in 1979. He served as Alma High School Assistant Principal from 1986-1998. He received his Specialist Degree from the U of A in 1992 and his Doctorate in 1995. He became Assistant Superintendent in 1998.  He is currently Assistant Superintendent for School Operations and Athletic Director. He and his wife Malinda raised three sons, Mikell, Matthew and Mason, all of whom attended all thirteen years of public school at Alma.

Pamm Treece

Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction

Pamm Treece has been an educator for the past 36 years serving as classroom teacher, counselor, assistant principal, and director of student services. In her current role she has renewed her focus on curriculum and professional development as assistant superintendent.

Ms. Treece is a graduate of NLR Ole Main and holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Arkansas Tech University. She earned a Master of Education in School Counseling from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and a Specialist in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University. Ms. Treece holds Arkansas teacher certification in health, physical and driver education, school counseling, building and district administration, and an Arkansas superintendent license.

Ms. Treece and her educator husband raised two children, and other than herself, all graduated from Alma High. Thirty-six plus years in the community of Alma allowed her to establish special relationships with students, parents, and grandparents, as well as many other community patrons. The Treece family continue to be avid Airedale fans and enjoy supporting students in co-curricular activities.

Kim Loughridge

Instructional Coordinator

Kim Loughridge is beginning her twentieth year as an educator and starting her fourth year in Alma School District. She graduated from Greenland High School in Greenland, Arkansas. Kim has a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Masters in Education, both from the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville. She earned her Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Harding University in Searcy, AR. In her 20 years in education, she has taught kindergarten, first and second grades. She has been a district and state Literacy Specialist. Kim had coordinated school based mental health services, 504 services and has been an Assistant Special Education Administrator as well as being an Assistant Principal and Principal. Kim is currently serving as the Instructional Coordinator for the district. Kim is married to Doug Loughridge, and they have 3 children who attend Alma Schools.

Cara Witherspoon is beginning her thirty-second year as a special educator in the Alma School District. She graduated from Arkansas Tech University with a degree in Recreation and Parks Administration, Texas Woman’s University with a Master of Arts in Therapeutic Recreation and the University of Arkansas with a Master of Education. She also has building principal licensure from Arkansas Tech University and curriculum program administrator (special education) from Harding University. She started her teaching career in special education as a teacher at the Alma Primary School for 16 years, then as assistant special education administrator for 10 years and is beginning her fifth year as special education supervisor in Alma. Cara has been married for 37 years and has one daughter who graduated from Alma.

Robin Finley

Federal Programs/Technology Specialist

Robin Finley is beginning her 31st year as an educator and starting her 17th year in Alma School District.   She graduated high school at Fort Smith Christian in 1984 after growing up in Texas and Oklahoma.  Robin has a Bachelor of Science in English Education from Oklahoma State University, a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from The University of Arkansas and an Educational Specialist in Educational Leadership from The University of Arkansas. In her 29 years in education, she has taught a variety of subjects and held several positions at the K-12 and college level:  English, speech, drama, health, journalism, yearbook, Bible, career orientation, PE, basketball coach, track coach, instructional technology, adjunct education professor, academic advisor, athletic director, counselor, and assistant principal. She has both her Arkansas and Oklahoma teaching license, which includes certification in ten areas including her building and district level administration certification.  Robin is currently our Federal Programs Coordinator and Technology Specialist.  She is also our ACSIP Coordinator, SMS Coordinator, and SIS Coordinator. Robin has also been a board member for the Arkansas School Counseling Association for thirteen years.  Robin has been married to her husband Bill for 30 years and has two children. Her son JD and his wife Mallorie, and her daughter Michaela all graduated from Alma High School.

Shannon Thomasson

Assistant Special Education Director

Shannon Thomasson is beginning her twenty-ninth year as an educator and starting her nineteenth year in the Alma School District. She has lived all but ten years as a resident of Alma, attended Alma Schools, and graduated from Alma High School. Shannon has a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Arkansas Tech University, and additional licensure in the area of Special Education from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Shannon has taught Kindergarten and all core subjects in middle level special education as an inclusion and resource teacher. She has served as a special education designee, elementary assistant principal and middle school assistant principal. Shannon is currently our Assistant Special Education Director and 504 coordinator for the district. Shannon has been married for 23 years and has two children, one in college and one a Senior at Alma High School.

K-12 Literacy & Social Studies Specialist/Dyslexia Therapist

Jami Anne Balkman is beginning her twenty-eighth year as an educator and starting her fifteenth year in Alma School District. She graduated from Van Buren High School. Jami Anne has a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Arkansas Tech University, a Master of Reading Education from The University of Arkansas at Little Rock, a Building Level Administration certificate from The University of Arkansas, a Dyslexia Therapist certificate from Harding University, and will graduate with an Educational Specialist in educational leadership from Harding University in December of 2017. In her 28 years in education, she has taught a variety of grades and held several positions at the K-12 and college level: kindergarten, first grade, adjunct education professor, reading tutor, literacy coach, and curriculum specialist. Jami Anne is currently our K-12 Curriculum Specialist for literacy and social studies. She is also our our dyslexia therapist, director of the bookmobile summer program, a grant writer, and helps coordinate summer professional development for all of our staff. Jami Anne serves our community as the chairperson for the Crawford County Library Board of Trustees and is a member of the 2017 Crawford County Leadership class. Jami Anne has been married for 24 years and has two sons. One son graduated from Alma, and the other attends Alma Schools.

Michael Bridges

Michael Bridges is entering his 10th year as an educator and his first year at Alma School District.  He grew up in Greenwood and graduated from Greenwood High School in 1992. Mr. Bridges received his bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from John Brown University.  He has also received a masters degree in Gifted, Talented, and Creative from Arkansas State University, and is currently completing his specialist degree in Educational Leadership from ASU.  Mr. Bridges taught 3rd and 4th grade for the past nine years at Parkview Elementary in Van Buren where he was also the 4th grade quiz bowl coach. He currently serves as Alma’s GT Coordinator, as well as being an instructional facilitator with the district.  Michael has been married to his beautiful wife Kelly for 14 years. Their 3 children, Noah, Abby, and Ben, are enrolled in the Alma School District.

Nancy Rhodes

Math & Science Curriculum Specialist, K-12

Nancy Rhodes is beginning her 26th year as an educator and starting her 18th year in the Alma School District. She graduated from Greenwood High School, has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from Arkansas Tech University, a Master’s Degree in Physics from the University of Virginia, and a Special’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University. She taught the first eight years of her career in the Hackett School District teaching both math and sciences courses in grades 7-12. Her teaching assignment in the Alma School District included most of the math and science courses taught at the High School but primarily focused on teaching PreAP Algebra 2, AP Chemistry, and AP Physics. During her twelve years in the classroom at Alma High School she also earned her National Board Teaching Certification. She is currently beginning her sixth year as our K-12 Math & Science Curriculum Specialist.

Nancy is a proud Airedale supporter and until recently could be found at the score table at every home varsity basketball game documenting the official scorebook. Nancy has four grown children, two daughters – one of which was a Ladyback basketball player from 1999/2002 - and two sons. Two of her children are engineers and her oldest daughter is an educator in Alma School District. Nancy has twelve grandchildren, six of which attend(ed) Alma Schools, the oldest being a 2018 Alma graduate.

Jerry Valentine graduated from Alma High School in 1975. He attended Westark College from 1975-1977, graduated from UALR with a BSE degree in 1980, and completed his M.Ed. in 1981 from the University of Arkansas. He has two daughters, Cheska Neal and Carleigh Tapp, who live in Conway, Arkansas. He is married to Cindy Spencer Valentine who graduated from Alma in 1978. Brian Kirkendoll is beginning his nineteenth year in education and eleventh in administration. He was born and raised in Crawford County and graduated from Van Buren High School. He has been employed with the Alma School District for eleven years. Mr. Kirkendoll served in the U.S. Navy on active duty for 6 years and 14 years in the USNR, retiring in 2013. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Central Arkansas and his master's degree in administration from Arkansas Tech University. He is currently an assistant principal at Alma High School and serves as the district alternative learning director. Brian has been married for 24 years and has 1 daughter who attends Alma High School.

Nick grew up in Alma and graduated from Alma High School in 1981. He attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Education, a Master of Education in Sport Management, and a Master of Educational Administration. He began his education career in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD in Texas where he taught science and coached basketball. He then returned to Arkansas, where he served as assistant principal and high school principal at Lavaca High School. Nick returned to Alma seventeen years ago where he has served as assistant principal at Alma Middle School for nine years and the assistant principal at Alma High School for the last seven years. He is beginning his 31st year in education. He is married to Susie Spencer, and has two sons, Cade and Cole.

Bob Wolfe is in his 25th year of education and his fifth year as Principal of Alma Middle School. He began his teaching career at Cedarville High School where he taught Biology and Chemistry for four years. He then spent the next twelve years teaching Biology, PreAP Biology, and AP Biology at Alma High School. After receiving his degree in Administration, he served as the Waldron High School Assistant Principal and Athletic Director for one year before returning to Alma to be the Assistant Principal at Alma Middle School for two years.

Mr. Wolfe received his Bachelor Degree from the University of Iowa and his Master’s Degree from Arkansas Tech University. He has been married for 28 years. He, and his wife Shawn, have two children, Andrea, a 2013 Alma graduate and a 2017 UAFS graduate, and Carter, a 2016 Alma graduate and a student at UCA. He and his wife now live with their German Shepherd, Sadie, and two cats, Sophie and Sassy.

Jason Reeves is beginning his 14th year with the Alma School District, his 15th  overall in education, and his 2nd year as the assistant principal at Alma Middle School.  Jason graduated from Alma High School in 1997, from Arkansas Tech University in 2001 with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, the University of Arkansas - Monticello in 2005 with a Master’s in Teaching, and most recently from Arkansas State University with his Specialist in Educational Leadership. Jason’s wife, Erin, is a 4th grade teacher at the Alma Intermediate School. They have been married for 17 years and have two daughters, Eliana (9) and Joslynn (6).

Principal, Alma Intermediate

Jim Warnock is beginning his 36th year in education. He has served as principal at Alma Intermediate School for sixteen years. Prior to this, he was principal at Yocum Elementary School in El Dorado and Junction City Middle and High Schools. He taught grades K-12 during his career as a music teacher.

Warnock graduated from El Dorado High School and earned his bachelors in education at Henderson State University. His master’s in education is from Southern Arkansas University with certification in administration through Arkansas State University. He also completed three phases of the Master Principals Institute through the Arkansas Leadership Academy.

In 2006, Warnock represented Arkansas as a National Distinguished School Principal. In 2013, Warnock served as president of the Arkansas Association of Educational Administrators and previously served as an editorial advisor for Principal, the professional journal of the National Association of Elementary School Principals.

Jim’s wife of 39 years is a teacher and they have two grown daughters who are Alma graduates.

Ralynn Wilkinson is in her 20th year as an educator, all of which have been at Alma School District. She was born and raised in Alma where she graduated from high school in 1995. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from Arkansas Tech University in Elementary Education (grades Pre K-6), a Master of Science from Arkansas State University in Educational Leadership, and is finishing up her Educational Specialist Degree in Education Leadership at Arkansas State University. Ralynn is also certified in Gifted and Talented teaching and she is an International Talents Unlimited Certified Trainer. During her educational career, she has held positions as a 3rd grade teacher, 4th grade teacher, GT teacher/coordinator, mentor program director, and instructional facilitator. Ralynn is currently the Assistant Principal at Alma Intermediate School. She is also our GT Coordinator and runs our Teen Tech Academy summer camp. Ralynn has been married for 19 years and has three children, two of which currently attend Alma schools. She has a passion for life long learning and for building positive relationships with everyone around her.

Shawn Bullard earned an Associate Degree at Carl Albert State College in Poteau, OK. From there he received a Bachelor Degree from Arkansas Tech University through what was then Westark Community College. After two years of teaching, he started on his master of education degree and principal certification through the University of Central Arkansas. In December of 2015, he completed his Specialist Degree through Arkansas State University.
He began his career in education in 1993 in the Fort Smith School District. He taught sixth grade for four years, a fifth and sixth split class for two years and third grade for two years.
He came to Alma as the assistant principal at Alma Primary School in 2001 under Mrs. Marsha Woolly. Upon her retirement in 2008, he became principal of the Alma Primary School.

Dee Ann Harris is beginning her 36th year in education, all of those years in the Alma School District. She grew up in Fort Smith and graduated from Northside High School in 1974. Mrs. Harris holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from Arkansas Tech University. She also holds a Master Degree in School Leadership and Counseling from Arkansas Tech University. Later, she completed her Principal's Licensure through Arkansas State University. Mrs. Harris began her career at Alma in 1976 teaching kindergarten. She also has taught elementary remedial reading, second grade, and seventh and eighth grade language arts. For nine years, she was one of the middle school counselors at Alma Middle School. Mrs. Harris returned to Alma Primary School as Assistant Principal in January of 2013. She loves having a role in the lives of Alma students! She has been married to her husband Phil for 34 years. They have a son, Dr. Zach Harris and his wife Leslie, and a daughter, Malia Price and her husband Matt. Their three grandchildren, Gracelyn, Madelyn, and Rhett, are the sunshine in Mrs. Harris' life!

Debbie Stewart has been the Child Nutrition Director for Alma Schools since 1989. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from the University of Central Arkansas in Family and Consumer Science and a credential as a School Nutrition Specialist from School Nutrition Association. Prior to joining Alma Schools, Debbie worked for the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service. She is married to Wayne Stewart. They have two grown children, Scott and Robin who graduated from Alma Schools. They also enjoy a daughter-in-law and a grandson.

Lynn Martin is beginning her twenty-fourth year as the accountant for the Alma School District. Janet Ruth joined the Alma School District in 1992 where she served as substitute for classrooms and offices. In 1995 she began the full-time position as the Administrative Assistant in the Administration Offices. Janet graduated from Omaha High School and attended Westark College. She was involved with the Crawford County Library Board and Leadership of Crawford County. Janet is married to Mark Ruth. They have four sons Brandon and Corey Allen, Koty and Eli Ruth.

Sue Featherston is beginning her thirty-eighth year in education and her twenty-eighth year with the Alma School District. Sue graduated high school from Lavaca and attended Arkansas Tech University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Education K-6. She received a Masters Degree from University of Arkansas in Special Education K-12 along with certification as a Special Education Supervisor. Sue also received a degree from the University of Arkansas as a School Psychology Specialist and Educational Examiner. From 1980 -1990, Sue taught in three different public school settings as a special education teacher in a resource room setting and in a self-contain classroom setting. From 1990 to present, Sue has been working as a School Psychology Specialist/Educational Examiner for the Alma School District. Sue lives in Lavaca with her husband of twenty-eight years, has three step-children and three grandchildren who reside in California.

Leigh Brown is in her twelfth year at Alma School District.  She has been the Administrative Assistant for the Special Education Department for the last ten years.  Leigh is a 1986 graduate of Alma High School and attended Westark College.  She is involved in Make-A-Wish as a volunteer Wish Granter, a member of the Alma Police Focus Group and enjoys running.  Leigh has been married to her husband Damon for 25 years and has two children.  Katie is a 2013 Alma graduate and a 2017 UAFS graduate, and Alec is a senior at Alma High School.

Michael Fulmer is beginning his 33rd year in education. He taught Vocational Agriculture at County Line School District for nine years. He has been with Alma for the last 22 years , with 18 of those years teaching at Alma Middle School. The past 4 years he has been Director of Maintenance. Michael graduated high school from Alma and graduated college from The University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Education. He has been married to his wife Stacie for 32 years with 2 children Anthony and his wife Kelsie and Sydnie and her husband Austin. Michael values the time he gets to spend with his grandson Reece.
