Mrs. Stacie Wood
Stacie Wood is beginning her 21st year in education. She is starting her first year as the Alma High School, assistant principal. She has served as principal at Parkview Elementary School in Van Buren for the past ten year. Prior to this she served as assistant principal at Alma Primary School for one year. Prior to her educational leadership experience, she taught fifth grade at Central Middle School, third grade and intervention at Tate Elementary and was an instructional facilitator at Northridge Middle School.
Stacie is a 1994 graduate of Alma High School. She earned a Bachelors in Elementary Education and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Arkansas Tech University. She holds a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership: Superintendency from Arkansas State University and is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University.
In 2013, Mrs. Wood was recognized as the Arkansas Administrator of the Year, by the state Parent/Teacher Organization. In 2014, Wood completed the Principal’s Leader to Leader Academy, for excellence in Educational Leadership at Arkansas Tech University.
Stacie is married to James Wood, a 1995 graduate of Alma High School. James is a Captain with the Fort Smith Fire Department. They live on a small farm in Alma, with their two sons, Zayne, who is a senior this year and Gus, who is in fourth grade.
