Mrs. Beth Raines
Beth Raines is beginning her 22nd year as an educator and her 21st year in the Alma School District. She attended Alma School district 1st grade - 12th grade - class of "79". Beth has an Associate of Arts degree from Westark Community College in Fort Smith, a Bachelor of Science degree from Arkansas Tech, and Special Education Certification K-12 from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, Arkansas. She owned/operated a Child Care facility and taught preschool for 10 years previous to her working as an educator at Mulberry School District. In her past 19 years at Alma School District, she taught 5 years Special Education in the Partially Self Contained classroom at Alma Intermediate, 13 years teaching Special Education Inclusion/Co-Teaching in 3rd grade at Alma Intermediate School, and the past 3years teaching Special Education in a Partially Self Contained classroom at Alma High School. Beth is currently helping Job Coach for the PSC classroom and provide Pre-Employment Transition Services as per the Workforce and Opportunity Act through a structured program known as Opportunities for Work Based Learning or OWL. Beth has been married to her husband James for 10 years and has 3 children. Her sons Brent and Nick Carter attended Alma schools. Brent's wife Larisa works at the Intermediate school. Their 2 sons, Damon and Ryan Carter, attend Alma Middle School. Her son Nick and his wife Lauren live in Van Buren. One of Nick's sons, Tanner Carter, attends Alma Intermediate school. Landon, another son will attend an Alma Primary. Nick also has a step-son Bryson and a step-daughter Hayli that attend school in Van Buren. Beth's step-daughter Kristen lives in Sallisaw with her mother.
