Ms. Kate Rhodes

Kate has been a Special Education Teacher since 2002 and started at Alma High School in 2008. She graduated in 1995 from The Williston Northampton School in Easthampton, MA and attended the University of Arizona from 1995-1999, where she obtained a B.A. in Psychology and Spanish. After graduation, she attended Springfield College, in MA, to obtain her M.Ed with a focus on Urban, Secondary Education and Counseling. She graduated with licensures in Secondary Special Education and School Counseling. Upon graduation, she worked at a publicly-funded private school for students who were deemed too dangerous to attend public school but were not at a point of incarceration. During 2003-2008, she taught at Longmeadow High School and helped expand and run the alternative education program. A former marriage brought her to Van Buren, AR in 2008. She is currently licensed as a Special Education Instructional Specialist 5-12 and in Guidance and Counseling K-12. In addition, she holds a LCSW and a certification as Dyslexia Interventionist. She teaches Resource Math and either currently, or in the past, has assisted in Inclusion Algebra I, Inclusion Geometry and Bridging to Algebra II.
