Ms. Kate Rhodes
Kate has been teaching for 18 years and is currently a Special Education Teacher at Alma High School. She graduated in 1995 from The Williston Northampton School in Easthampton, MA and attended the University of Arizona from 1995-1999, where she obtained a B.A. in both Psychology and Spanish. After graduation, she returned to her hometown of Westfield, MA and attended Springfield College, in MA, to obtain her M.Ed with a focus on Urban, Secondary Education. She graduated with licensures in Secondary Special Education and School Counseling. Upon graduation, she worked at a publicly-funded private school for students who were deemed too dangerous to attend public school but were not at a point of incarceration. During 2003-2008, she taught at Longmeadow High School and helped expand and run the alternative education program. A former marriage brought her to Van Buren, AR in 2008. She is currently certified in Special Education Iinstructional Specialist 5-12 and in Guidance and Counseling K-12. She teaches Resource Math and either currently, or in the past, has assisted in Inclusion Algebra I, Inclusion Geometry and Bridging to Algebra II.
