Brian Kirkendoll

Principal, Alma High School

Brian Kirkendoll is beginning his twenty-second year in education and fifteenth in administration. He was born and raised in Crawford County and graduated from Van Buren High School. He has been employed with the Alma School District for sixteen years. 

Mr. Kirkendoll served in the U.S. Navy on active duty for 6 years and 14 years in the USNR, retiring in 2013. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Central Arkansas and his master's degree in administration from Arkansas Tech University and a specialist degree from Arkansas State University. Brian has been married for 27 years and has 1 daughter who attends the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith.

Jason Reeves

Assistant Principal, Alma High School

Jason Reeves is beginning his 17th year with the Alma School District, his 18th overall in education. He served as Assistant Principal at Alma Middle school for the previous two years and is now in his second year as Assistant Principal for the High School. 

Jason graduated from Alma High School in 1997, from Arkansas Tech University in 2001 with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, the University of Arkansas - Monticello in 2005 with a Master’s in Teaching, and most recently from Arkansas State University with his Specialist in Educational Leadership. 

Jason’s wife, Erin, is a teacher at the Alma Intermediate School. They have been married for 20 years and have two daughters, Eliana (11) and Joslynn (8).

Courtney Cochran

Assistant Principal, Alma High School

Courtney Cochran, the 2017 Arkansas Teacher of the Year and assistant principal at Alma High School, is a National Board Certified Spanish Teacher. She received her B.S.E. in Spanish from the University of Arkansas, her M.S.E. in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University, and is currently studying Educational Leadership in the specialist program at the University of Arkansas. 

Ms. Cochran's mission is to support and empower teachers in leveraging their collective efficacy and to nurture their innate drive to do brave things to improve the trajectories of students' lives. She works toward her mission in her daily work as an assistant principal and also through special projects such as ArkansasPBS's Rise and Shine and Arkansas DESE's ARPep. Ms. Cochran's first love is her three children: Maddie, Jude, and Lucy.
