Lady Airedales stay red-hot

The Alma Lady Airedales’ junior high team rolled to a 49-27 win over Fayetteville Tuesday night at Crabtree Gym, the team’s sixth victory without a defeat. 


Faith Sartor, who got in some extra shooting practice Monday night, led the way with 18 points. 


Izabel Benson tallied 15 points for the winners. Emberly Kimes added seven points, and Olivia Hughes and Anna Swarnes finished with five and four points, respectively. 


Alma 31, Butterfield 6


GIRLS - The Alma Lady Airedales’ eighth-grade team rolled to an easy 31-6 win over Van Buren Butterfield Tuesday. 


The Lady Airedales outscored Butterfield, 13-0, in the final half. 


Kaitlyn Middleton paced Alma with eight points. Six other players scored at least two points, with Matilyn Dunn and Ellie Reeves finishing with seven and five points, respectively. 


Lauren Settle and Izabella Plourde had four and three points, respectively, and Karlee Bush and Ruthy Dunaway finished with two points each. 


Alma 37, Butterfield 16


BOYS - Luke Stogsdill, Sammy Moore, and Cade Moore combined for 27 points on 13-of-17 shooting Tuesday to power the Airedales to a 37-16 blowout of Butterfield at Crabtree Gym... 


Stogsdill led the way with 10 points, six rebounds, and two steals. 


Sammy Moore was 4-of-5 from the field with nine points and three rebounds. Cade Moore went 4-for-6 for eight points. Also for Alma, Lawson Adams had four points, and Drake Ciampoli and Hudson Loughridge scored two each. 


Fayetteville 49, Alma 18


BOYS - Fayetteville defeated Alma’s junior high team, 49-18, Tuesday at Crabtree Gym. 


Sam Schlegel led Alma with 10 points. Easton Daily and Jeremiah Schlegel had five points.
