Makenzie Martin scattered eight hits and walked just one while helping the Lady Airedales to a 4-2 win over Greenwood on Monday in the opener of their 5A-West doubleheader.
Greenwood, which had already punched its ticket as the conference champion, won the nightcap, 10-0.
Kelsey Shepherd and Jocelyn Harless drove in two runs apiece in Alma's opener, helping stake Martin to a 4-0 lead after three innings of play. Taelynn Perry had two hits to raise her batting average to .541.
Perry went 0-for-2 in the second game as the Lady Airedales managed just four hits.
In the opener, Abigail Smith had two hits to help keep her season batting average at .329.
Alma will host Springdale for Senior Night Friday.
The Greenwood Bulldogs swept a 5A-West doubleheader from Alma Monday by scores of 7-1 and 12-1.
Junior Logan Taylor allowed two earned runs over five innings in the opener.
Zach Holt drove in the team's run with an RBI single in the seventh. Holt is batting .400 (6-for-15) over his last six games.
Sophomore Noah Likens pitched five strong innings in the nightcap, allowing three earned runs.
The Airedales (5-17, 2-10) conclude conference play Monday against Greenbrier.
