Ramsey 12, Alma 8
The Alma Airedales’ eighth-grade football team suffered a 12-8 loss to Ramsey Tuesday night at Citizens Bank Field at Airedale Stadium.
Randal Waggoner accounted for Alma’s lone touchdown with a 57-yard fumble return. Timothy Plourde added the 2-point conversion run. He finished with 49 yards rushing on eight carries.
Plourde also had four tackles and a quarterback sack. Waggoner added five stops
Blake Gregory, Trenton Kilgore, Braden Pepas, Austin Davila, and Joey Lynn had two tackles apiece.
Ramsey 22, Alma 20
The Ramsey Rams rallied to beat Alma’s seventh-grade squad Tuesday, 22-20.
The Airedales took a 7-0 lead when Luke Stogsdill scooped up a low throw from quarterback Chase Parker and rumbled 22 yards for a touchdown.
Stogsdill’s 47-yard touchdown reception gave the Airedales (1-1) a 14-6 halftime lead. Daniel Rodriguez kicked both extra points.
Izaac Plourde added a 5-yard touchdown to give the Airedales a brief 20-14 lead before Ramsey returned the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown.
Volleyball falls, 3-0
The Lady Airedales opened 5A-West play Tuesday with a 25-14, 25-17, 28-26 loss to Vilonia.
Jenna Williams led the way with three kills and 17 digs. Rebekah McIntosh added five kills.
Rachel James finished with three kills, 11 assists, and 10 digs. Julia Nutt added four assists.
Alma (3-6, 0-1) returns home Thursday to play Siloam Springs.
