Harrison 14, Alma 12
By Kevin Taylor
The Alma Airedales’ junior high team battled Harrison tooth for tooth Thursday.
But the Goblins made more play for a hard-fought 14-12 victory at Citizens Bank Field at Airedale Stadium.
Harrison took a 7-0 lead in the first before Camden Curd raced 46 yards for a touchdown.
The Goblins took a 14-6 halftime lead when the Airedales turned a turnover into a fourth-quarter touchdown. Eli Pellam pounced on an errant snap in the end zone to cut Harrison’s lead to two.
The Goblins then stopped the two-conversion attempt.
Defensively, Byron Standridge had 13 tackles while playing his game since a knee injury set him back in the team’s season opener with Morrilton.
Piercen Howell had five and Calbel Parker finished with five tackles apiece. Curd had a fumble recovery and an interception.
Offensively, Curd finished with 62 yards rushing on seven carries. Israel Towns-Robinson and Cash Farris added 29 and 25 yards, respectively.
