A blocked extra point in overtime helped Morrilton escape with a 35-34 win over Alma Friday in 5A-West play.

The Airedales and Devil Dogs have played three straight one-point games, with Alma winning 29-28 in 2019 and 23-22 in 2018.

Morrilton won 38-35 in 2017 and 28-26 in 2016.

Friday, Devil Dogs quarterback Damarius Martin scored all five touchdowns for the winners. Jackson Landon booted all five extra-point attempts.

Morrilton (3-4, 2-2) took advantage of a blocked punt and an interception return for two short touchdown drives covering 9 and 7 yards, respectively. The Devil Dogs also had two long scoring drives that covered 88 and 93 yards.

Alma quarterback Joe Trusty threw three touchdowns, including a 33-yarder to BriLee White on the Airedales' opening drive. White caught five passes for 92 yards and two scores.

Conner Stacy caught five passes for 80 yards, including a 47-yard scoring strike for the Airedales.

Alma (3-4, 2-2) forced OT when Trusty threw a 6-yard TD pass to White and a two-point conversion pass to Shawn Rankins.

Alma's Brady Noyes added a 38-yard touchdown run for the Airedales.
