Alma 9th graders win 10/29/21

Airedales 9th graders rally

Israel Towns-Robinson and Camden Curd scored second-half touchdowns to rally the Airedales to a 14-6 win over Northside’s ninth-grade Thursday night at Mayo-Thompson Stadium. 


The Grizzlies led 6-0 at the half before Towns-Robinson raced 49 yards for a touchdown. His two-point conversion put Alma ahead to stay. 


Camden Curd’s 50-yard touchdown run put the Airedales ahead for good (14-6) in the fourth quarter. Cash Farris iced the game with an interception to the end zone in the final minute of play. Farris also had three tackles. 


Byron Standridge and Caleb Parker finished with seven and six tackles, respectively. Standridge had three pass breakups on Northside’s final drive, too. 


Elijah Pellam had five tackles, including four tackles for lost yardage. 


Paced by left tackle Eli Waldrop, Alma rushed for 180 yards on 18 attempts. Towns-Robinson and Curd finished with 82 and 81 yards rushing, respectively. 


Pellam added 16 yards rushing on three attempts.
