Alma seventh-graders sweep Butterfield

The Alma Airedales’ seventh-grade teams swept Van Buren Butterfield Junior High Wednesday. 


The seventh grade ‘Gold’ girls team rolled to a 13-8 victory. Izabella Plourde led the way with nine points. Teammate Kaitlin Middleton finished with four. 


The seventh-grade girls’ ‘Green’ team won 37-13 behind Faith Sartor’s 10-point effort. Anna Swarnes had nine, and Emberly Kimes and Isabella Peters finished with six apiece. 


The Lady Airedale seventh graders will host Van Buren Northridge next Wednesday at Alma Middle School. 


The Airedales’ seventh-grade boys teams enjoyed big victories as well. 


Tristan and Colton Nutt combined for 13 points as the Airedales doubled up Butterfield, 23-11. Tanner Jacob and Robert Warren had three points each for the winners. 


Jaston Ross, Jalen Trice, and Brian Snider had two points apiece. 


The seventh grade ‘Green” team built a 19-point lead (32-13) before coasting to a 36-24 victory. 


Luke Stogsdill and Cade Moore combined for 25 points, with Stogsdill leading all scorers with 17 points. 


Sammy Moore and Hudson Loughridge finished with four and three points, respectively. Brycen Lester finished with two. 


The seventh-grade boy's teams travel to Northridge next Wednesday.
