The Alma Lady Airedales re-wrote the record book this weekend in Texas. Alma went 4-0 at the Lady Guard Invitational in Bullard, Texas.
Monday, however, it was back on the road for another tournament at McDonald County, Mo.
Alma flattened all four opponents in Texas by scores of 59-22, 71-29, 77-29, and 63-33. The Lady Airedales won the four games by an average margin of 39.2 points per game.
Presli Taylor got the party started with a 27-point effort during a 71-29 rout of West Rusk, Texas Friday afternoon. Taylor broke Abbye Ostrander’s previous school record for 3-pointers in a game (seven) with eight.
In addition to Taylor’s eight 3-points, Alma tied a school record for 3-pointers in a game with 12.
Taylor was hardly alone. Freshman Jordan Gramlich had a career-high 23 points in a 77-29 rout of Midland Christian, Texas Friday night. They smashed that record the following day by scoring 28 points in Alma’s 66-36 win over East Texas Home School.
Gramlich also tied in the individual record for steals in a game (10) during the win over West Rusk. Alma broke a school record for steals in a game with 41.
After this week, the Lady Airedales won’t play again until opening 5A-West play on Jan. 7 against Vilonia.
