Alma baseball

Alma senior Logan Taylor went 4-for-4 with two RBIs. He’s the first Airedale to have four hits in a game since Lane Caldwell went 4-for-4 on April 4, 2017, also against Clarksville.

The Airedales had a season-high 11 hits and have scored 18 runs over their last three games. Caden Gifford and Branson Brogan had two hits apiece for the Airedales.

After a slow start, Gifford has raised his batting average to .138. He is 3 for his last nine after starting the season 1-for-20.

Taylor raised his batting average to .392. Taylor’s two-run double gave Alma a 4-3 lead after four innings.

But the Panthers scored twice in the sixth and four times in the seventh for their seventh victory in 11 games.

Alma will host Muldrow Thursday (March 24) at 6:40 p.m. in the first round of the Crabtree RV Wood Bat Tournament.
