Kevin Taylor, who is a public relations and instructional specialist with the Alma School District, has been chosen as the Wadie Moore Distinguished Service Award winner by the Arkansas Activities Association for the 2021-22 school year.
The award is presented to newspaper, television, and radio reporters and broadcasters for their contributions to covering high school sports in Arkansas.
Taylor, who handles sports media for the Airedales for several years, has been covering high school sports for nearly 40 years in Texas and Arkansas. He began covering Airedales sports in the fall of 1999 for the (Fort Smith) Southwest Times Record.
Taylor, who joined the district seven years ago as an instructional assistant helping online learning credit recovery students, is also the voice of Alma’s varsity football and basketball teams.
Taylor is married to his wife Mardi and has two boys – Logan, who graduated from Alma High School in May, and Landon, who attends Alma Middle School. Taylor is a native of Conroe, TX, and attended Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX.
