The Alma Airedales’ eighth-grade football team scored three second-quarter touchdowns en route to a 28-8 win over Prairie Grove on Monday.
Chase Parker had a hand in all four touchdowns, including a 52-yard scamper late in the first quarter to give the Airedales an 8-0 lead. Parker finished with 105 yards rushing on just five carries.
He was better through the air, connecting on 6-of-9 passes for 78 yards and touchdown passes to three different receivers - Hudson Loughridge, Lawson Adams, and Dylan Jackson.
Loughridge’s 5-yard TD reception gave the Airedales a 15-0 lead. Adams’ 10-yard TD reception made it 22-0, and following a Prairie Grove turnover, Parker hit Jackson over the middle from 10 yards out to make it 28-0.
Logan Flanagan added 46 yards rushing on nine carries.
Defensively, Jeremiah Whitaker and Boaz Benson had five tackles apiece. Parker and Colton Nutt added three stops apiece, and Flanagan and Josiah Stallings recovered fumbles.
