Alma 8th grade boys prevail
Carson Curd came up big for the Alma Airedales on Monday at Farmington Junior High.
The Airedales’ eighth grader scored 20 points, including 3-of-4 from the 3-point line, and grabbed six rebounds during the Airedales’ 48-42 win over Farmington. Curd was also 5-for-5 from the free-throw line.
In addition, Curd had three blocks, two steals, and an assist.
Down 33-26 in the second half, Alma took control with a 17-3 scoring run. They ended the game on a 22-9 burst.
Luke Stogsdill had 16 points and 10 rebounds. Alma outrebounded the Cardinals, 25-18.
Sammy Moore added seven points, three rebounds, and two assists for the winners. Boaz Benson contributed five points, and Hudson Loughridge had four rebounds.
The Airedales host Van Buren on Thursday.
Alma junior boys fall in OT
Farmington rallied late Monday to clip the Alma Airedales’ junior high boys team, 57-53, in OT.
Sam Schlegel had 18 points and six boards for the Airedales. Jeremiah Schlegel added 16 points and four steals, and Easton Daily finished with 14 points.
Kade Fagan had four points and took three charges. The Airedales host Van Buren on Thursday.
Alma junior girls fall at home
The Alma junior Lady Airedales had their 13-game winning streak come to a halt Tuesday against Farmington. The Lady Cardinals prevailed at Crabtree Gym, 43-21.
Faith Sartor and Emberly Kimes led Alma with six and four points, respectively. McKinzy Berna finished with three points.
Anna Swarnes, Breella Hughes, Izabel Benson, and Olivia Hughes each had two points.
Alma travels to Van Buren on Thursday.
Airedale 8th-grade girls lose
The Alma Lady Airedales’ eighth-grade girls' team suffered a 42-34 loss to Farmington on Monday.
Jaeda Cahoon and Kaitlyn Middleton led Alma with eight points apiece. Ruthy Dunaway and Lauren Settles finished with seven points each.
Alma 7th grade Green falls
Alma’s seventh grade ‘Green’ team dropped a tough 36-32 decision to Farmington on Monday.
Jaeli Morris and Haven Baxter finished with 11 and eight points, respectively.
Mallory Taylor had six points, Ellyse Wright three, and Grayce Routt and Madie House finished with two points each.
Alma 7th Gold girls lose
Alma’s grade girls ‘Gold’ dropped a 21-16 decision to Farmington on Monday.
Khloe Dunn had eight points for the Lady Airedales. Kadee Wise and Juliet Hargis added four and three, respectively.
RaeLynn Avey had one point.
