Inside play fuels Airedales

Alma Schools 

Anna Swarnes and Faith Sartor combined for 16 points to help lead Alma to a 43-22 win over Ozark Tuesday at Crabtree Gym. 

Swarnes led Alma (9-2) with a game-high nine points. Sartor added seven points, and Lauren Settle and Jaeda Cahoon finished with six points each.

Alma led by as many as 28 (33-5). Maddie Dunn and Jaeli Morris scored five and four points, respectively, for the Lady Airedales. Olivia Hughes and Izabella Plourde scored three points each. 

Alma opens conference play on Thursday against Greenwood. 


Ozark 36, Alma 23   

BOYS — The Alma ninth-grade boys basketball suffered its second loss of the season on Tuesday against Ozark. 

The Airedales (10-2) took a 15-11 lead late in the second quarter on the strength of Landon Taylor’s 3-pointer. 

But the Airedales managed just eight second-half points while being outscored 22-8. Taylor led Alma with six points. 

Lawson Adams had five, and Hudson Loughridge and Carson Hamilton had three apiece.  

The Airedales, who visit Greenwood Thursday, were guilty of 22 turnovers. 


Alma 38, Ozark 3   

GIRLS — Jaeli Morris and Madie House scored eight points apiece to help power to a 38-3 rout of Ozark in eighth-grade girls basketball Tuesday.

Chloe Kovalck and Ellyse Wright finished with seven and five points, respectively, for the winners. Grayce Routt and Khloe Dunn finished with four points each. 

The Lady Airedales have won five straight. 

 

Ozark 43, Alma 25 

BOYS — The Alma Airedales’ eighth-grade boys basketball team lost to Ozark Tuesday at Crabtree Gym. 

Carson Hamilton had 12 points to lead the Airedales. Barron Daily added eight.
