Alma 9th graders win big

BOYS — Landon Taylor hit all three of his 3-pointers in the first quarter and the Alma junior high Airedales’ basketball team rolled to a 47-21 win over Greenwood Thursday at Crabtree Gym.
Taylor and Carson Curd led Alma (14-2, 4-0) with nine points apiece. Luke Stogsdill and Cade Moore had eight points each, and Chase Wood added six points, two rebounds, and two steals.
Hudson Loughridge had three points, and Sammy Moore and Julian Spears added two points each.
Alma 9th girls fall, 41-39
GIRLS — The Alma junior high girls basketball team suffered a 41-39 loss to Greenwood Thursday.
Jaeda Cahoon led Alma with nine points. Anna Swarnes and Maddie Dunn finished with seven points each, and Faith Sartor and Lauren Settle added six and five points, respectively. Olivia Hughes finished with three points.
Alma was just 11-of-27 from the free-throw line.
