With 25 years of experience in education and 18 years in administration, Mr. Kirkendoll is a Crawford County native and a graduate of Van Buren High School. He has dedicated 18 years of his career to the Alma School District, bringing a wealth of knowledge to his current position.

Beyond his education career, Mr. Kirkendoll served in the U.S. Navy for 6 years on active duty and 14 years in the USNR, retiring in 2013. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Central Arkansas, a master's degree in administration from Arkansas Tech University, and a specialist degree from Arkansas State University.

Married for 30 years, Mr. Kirkendoll is especially proud of his daughter, a recent graduate of Arkansas Tech University, who will be beginning her first year in education as a 4th grade teacher in a neighboring district.

Mrs. Moore has been a devoted educator for 21 years, with 18 of those years spent in the Alma School District. She is a proud graduate of Alma High School, where she attended kindergarten through twelfth grade and graduated with high honors in 2000. Mrs. Moore holds a Bachelor's Degree in Social Studies Education and a Master's Degree in School Counseling and Leadership, both from Arkansas Tech University as well as an Educational Specialist's Degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University.

In the early years of her career, Mrs. Moore taught a variety of social studies classes, including Civics and Economics, U.S. History, and Arkansas History. She then served as a school counselor for 13 years, most of that at Alma High School, before moving into the Assistant Principal role in 2023. Mrs. Moore has been happily married to her husband, Jason, for 20 years and is the proud mother of five children: Cade, Sammy, Bryleigh, Brock, and Emory. 

Zach Thomas

Mr. Thomas is an Alma High School graduate from 2003. Mr. Thomas has been an educator for 17 years, with 13 of those years serving in the Alma School District. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology - PreMed and Biology Education from the University of Arkansas Fort Smith, a Master’s Degree in Science Education from Montana State University, and an Educational Specialist’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University.

Throughout his career, Mr. Thomas has taught Physical Science, AP Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Concurrent Introduction to Biology Sciences through Arkansas Tech University. Mr. Thomas has also taught Microbiology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Biology at the collegiate level and is currently the Captain of Lancaster Fire Station for Crawford County District 1 Fire Department. He has served in various leadership roles, including Science PLC Facilitator, AHS Tech Team Member, AHS Guiding Coalition member, personnel policy committee chairperson, and the Crisis Management team. In 2024, he transitioned into the role of K-12 Science Curriculum Specialist before becoming Assistant Principal.
