Alma School District Names Brian Kirkendoll as Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning

Alma Public Schools is proud to announce the hiring of Mr. Brian Kirkendoll as the district’s next Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning.

Mr. Kirkendoll brings extensive experience in educational leadership and a deep commitment to academic excellence, student achievement, and supporting educators. Having served Alma Public Schools for many years, he is well known for his dedication to students, staff, and the Alma community.

“Mr. Kirkendoll has done an outstanding job of leading Alma High School and will do a great job of continuing the outstanding work that is already being done in curriculum and instruction,” said Mr. Hesslen, Superintendent-Elect.

In his new role, Mr. Kirkendoll will oversee curriculum and instruction, professional development, assessment programs, and districtwide academic initiatives. He will work closely with administrators and teachers to continue strengthening the district’s tradition of excellence and innovation in education.

“I am grateful and excited for the opportunity to serve as the assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction,” said Kirkendoll. “Alma High School has been my home and second family for many years. I welcome the new opportunities and challenges ahead. Dr. Wood has been amazing to work with and work for. I am eager to continue on her path of academic development and success. ”

Mr. Kirkendoll will officially begin his new role on July 1.
