There’s still time to help fill stockings for our local deployed troops! Donations for members of the 142nd FAB have been extended through Veterans Day, November 11. Drop off items at Alma Primary School or Alma Intermediate School. Suggested donations include jerky, candy, nuts, chips, single serve drink mixes, playing cards, travel size toiletries, and other nonperishable items that fit inside a stocking. Thank you for helping send a little comfort from home to those serving away from their families!
It’s National School Bus Safety Week! Thank you to our Alma School District bus drivers and transportation team for helping our students get to school and home safely each day. Please stay alert, give buses space, and remind students to follow their driver’s directions. Safe rides start with all of us! 🚌
So many resources, all in one place! Today we wrapped up the Parent Resource Center at Alma Intermediate School, where families explored educational resources, school-specific information, and support from community organizations. A big thank you to Mrs. Wagner, school counselor, for bringing it all together, and to our community partners, including those who traveled to join us, for sharing their time and knowledge with Alma families!
Root Rallies are back at Alma Intermediate School! 🌳 At the first rally, students connected with their House Champions, learned their house mottos, hand symbols, and handshakes, and got to know one another through fun activities. AIS’s four houses, Oak, Willow, Cypress, and Dogwood, bring students across grade levels together to build friendships, practice good character, and work toward shared goals. The first lesson’s message: each house brings strengths we all need, and while we belong to different houses, we are all one Grove!
🎪 Step right up! It may be a short week for students, but we’re making the most of it in the cafeteria as we celebrate National School Lunch Week! This annual celebration highlights how nutritious school meals help students stay fueled, focused, and ready to learn while recognizing the cafeteria teams who make it all happen. 🍂 A reminder for Alma families! Parent-teacher conferences and days out of school are coming up this week and next. Take a look at these important October dates as you plan ahead. Pre-K will follow its regular schedule October 15–16, and all students will be out of school October 19.

A familiar tradition is returning for the 2026 Alma High School Homecoming Parade! Join us Monday, September 21, at 6:00 p.m. as the parade begins on Main Street and heads down Fayetteville Avenue, bringing back the route many may remember from years past. Participants will return via Spring Street to their assembly and dismissal areas.

Paula Crabtree and Lawanna Gill of the Crawford County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee presented a generous donation to support Jack Snacks, benefiting students at Alma Primary School and Alma Intermediate School. APS Principal Shawn Bullard and AIS Principal Jennifer Lyon accepted the check on behalf of their schools. The committee also celebrated Alma High School student and Alma FFA President Hailey Kelly as the very first Crawford County Ag Student of the Month! Nominated by teachers Cara Willmon and Courtney Hicks, Hailey was recognized for her outstanding leadership and hard work. Congratulations, Hailey, and thank you to the Farm Bureau Women’s Committee for supporting Alma students!
Today, Alma School District pauses to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, honor the courage and sacrifice of so many, and reflect on the unity that brought our nation together. We will never forget.
An AFMC Medicaid representative will be available at Alma Intermediate School on October 16 during Parent Teacher Conferences. Families can receive help with Medicaid applications, renewals, finding or assigning a primary care provider, and locating other valuable resources. This opportunity is open to all Alma School District students and families, not just those attending AIS.
