Alma Middle School staged "Trouble in Paradise Junction" at the Alma Performing Arts Center over the weekend. The play portrays Paradise Junction as a charming small town where harmony reigns, the sun always shines, and tomatoes grow to enormous sizes. When a TV network proposes to film a reality show there for five million dollars, the residents eagerly agree. However, host Wink Smiley has ulterior motives, leading to unveiled secrets, reignited feuds, and a chaotic pie-baking contest turning into a food fight. Joe Goode, the Rise ’n’ Shine Diner owner, must save the town from disaster. Will he thwart Wink's plans, or will the residents unwittingly ruin their town on live TV? This heartwarming comedy, inspired by Frank Capra's films, entertained the audience while highlighting life's true priorities. The production involved 28 middle school students, directed by Marti Salisbury, with a crew comprising middle and high school students.
