Our seniors had a full day of planning for their futures! They learned about transcript procedures, scholarships, and college checklists, explored public service and workforce opportunities, and connected with colleges and career reps. The day wrapped up with a college and career fair and time to work on applications.
Morning Sessions:
Mrs. Shelton kicked off the day with introductions, transcript procedures, and scholarship information. Mrs. Reese guided students through the Class of 2026 Google Site and led fun activities with door prizes. Mrs. Medina shared a helpful College Checklist for Seniors and hosted “The Wheel of Names.”
Public Service Careers:
Students heard from Jessica Spicer (ATU–Ozark), watched a Military/Firefighter video from Tanner Shelton, and learned about opportunities from TSgt Alvin Medlin (Air National Guard), Jake Boyce (Army National Guard), and CPO Audrey Russo (US Coast Guard). Jeremy Caldwell spoke on law enforcement, and Captain James Wood from Fort Smith Fire Dept. shared about firefighting careers.
Workforce Opportunities:
Cindy Williams & Elissa Bailey (Time Striping), Sean Brister (Brister Law, Farm, & Title Co.), and Dr. Josh Seubold (Chiropractor) spoke to students, along with Dustin Hughes (Automotive Industry) and Bryan Young (Electrician). Students also watched videos featuring Landon Blair (Real Estate/Lineman Training), Jordyn Shelton, Judah Dean (Plumbing), Mady Casteel (Esthetician), and learned about CDL/manufacturing opportunities. Ritchie Cagle (Westark Barber College) wrapped up the workforce section.
Networking Lunch: Thanks to Geno’s for providing a delicious lunch while students connected with speakers!
College & Career Fair:
The day concluded with a fair in Crabtree and time for seniors to work on college applications — putting all they learned into action.
