Alma Intermediate School is excited to introduce its brand-new House System, a schoolwide initiative designed to strengthen community, encourage positive behavior, and celebrate character.
The system divides students and staff into four “houses,” each representing unique values and traits:
💚 Oak House (Green): Strength & Wisdom
💜 Willow House (Purple): Empathy & Adaptability
💙 Cypress House (Sky Blue): Perseverance & Hope
💛 Dogwood House (Light Yellow): Creativity & Joy
This year, 3rd grade is piloting the program, with plans to expand school-wide next year. Students will discover their house during Great Start and take part in monthly Root Rallies — 45-minute gatherings filled with engaging, character-building activities led by House Champions.
Houses will earn points throughout the year for showing AIS core values. Each quarter, the top house will receive the Golden Grove Award and enjoy a celebration activity.
AIS hosted its first-ever Root Rally this week, sparking excitement and curiosity among students. The energy and enthusiasm were contagious — and it’s clear this new tradition will help every child feel a stronger sense of belonging, pride, and connection at Alma Intermediate.
