Holt, Driscoll power Alma past Lady Apaches, 62-54

Collins Driscoll hit a driving layup with 1:02 left in the game and hit 3-of-4 free throws in the final 40 seconds Tuesday night to lift Alma to a 62-54 victory over Pottsville.
The Lady Airedales (4-4) built a 49-33 lead in the third quarter before an 18-6 Pottsville run narrowed the gap to four.
Just a freshman, Driscoll finished with nine points and was 3-of-4 from the foul line to go along with four steals and five rebounds.
Junior Brooklynn Holt led Alma with a game-high 27 points. She was 5-of-17 from the 3-point line.
Also for Alma, Olivia Hughes had 11 points and three assists. Madie House finished with nine points and a team-high five assists. Breella Hughes added four points, and Jaeli Morris finished with a team-high seven rebounds, two points, and two assists.
Alma 66, Pottsville 61
BOYS — Lawson Adams hit three late free throws and finished with a double-double (23 points and 12 rebounds) to lead the Airedales to a 66-61 win over the Pottsville Apaches, handing them their first loss in eight games.
Adams also had two blocks, four deflections, and an assist as the Airedales won for the sixth time in nine games.
Senior Shep Newcomb finished with 18 points, nine rebounds, and four assists. Carson Curd had a team-high five assists to go along with nine points.
Pottsville (7-1) took its largest lead (9-6) after a 7-0 first-quarter run. But Alma finished the half by outsourcing the Apaches, 34-24, to claim a 40-33 halftime advantage.
Brody Johnson added eight points, and Luke Stogsdill finished with six.
Alma 45, Southside 40
FRESHMEN — Aiden Kimes seems to come up big when it’s late.
Kimes scored five of his team-high 13 points in the final quarter to help power the unbeaten Alma ninth graders to a 37-32 win over Pottsville.
Aiden Caldwell added six points for the winners, while Barrett Curd finished with five points. Jake Johnson and Nate Risley had four apiece, and Braxton Roberts and Callum Wood had two apiece.
Alma 20, Pottsville 17
JUNIOR VARSITY — Junior Landon Taylor scored 13 points to help power the Airedales to a 20-17 (20-minute clock) win over the Pottsville Apaches.
Gabe Hardin had three points, and Roper Davis and Sammy Mooe had two points each.
