Mountain Home gave Alma all it could handle for most of a half on Thursday night.
But the Airedales’ Lawson Adams took over in the third quarter as Alma pulled away for an 83-70 victory.
The victory keeps the 16-6 Airedales in the thick of the 5A-West race for the top spot with Farmington and Van Buren, both of whom won their respective games Thursday.
Van Buren (16-6, 5-1) routed Harrison, 52-33, and Farmington (21-1, 6-0) doubled up Russellville, 84-56.
Greenwood and Siloam Springs canceled due to inclement weather.
Alma isn’t scheduled to play again until Siloam Springs visits Airedale Arena next week (Jan. 30).
For the second game in a row, Alma trailed early (5-0) before three Luke Stogsdill 3-pointers helped power the team to a 42-36 halftime lead. A pair of Adams’ dunks in the second half helped the team build an insurmountable 76-59 lead.
