GIRLS - Sarah Grimmett pulled off the hat trick in the Lady Airedales’ 2026 soccer benefit match.
Grimmett scored four times Monday to help power Alma to a 5-0 victory.
She scored in the 10th and 12th minutes of the first half, giving the Airedales a 2-0 halftime lead.
Jasmine Martin had two assists, including one in the 45th minute to extend the lead to 3-0. Jasmine Martin’s penalty kick made it 4-0 in the 56th minute, and Martin assisted Grimmett’s final goal in the 66th minute. Alma had 39 shots on goal, with 17 on target.
Kali Wasson and Aleigha Hubbard helped pitch a shutout.
The Lady Airedales open the season for keeps on Monday against Clarksville.

BOYS - Sophomore Hamir Thibodeaux didn’t take long to get into the scoring rhythm Monday.
The Airedales’ standout, Alma's first scorer, planted Alma’s first goal in the third minute and added two more goals to power Alma to a 5-0 win over Prairie Grove in the team’s benefit match.
Oscar Ventura assisted Isaac Wald in the 26th minute, and Lukas Wald assisted Thibodeaux in the 38th minute for a 3-0 halftime lead. Senior keeper Lukas Todd had four saves.
Oscar Ventura’s goal made it 4-0 in the 41st minute, and Marco Canales assisted Thibodeaux with his third goal in the 49th minute.
Alma will host Clarksville on Monday.
