Alma School District Names Dr. Jason Reeves as Assistant Superintendent
Alma, AR — Alma Public Schools is proud to announce the hiring of Dr. Jason Reeves as the district’s next Assistant Superintendent of Operations, effective July 1, 2026.
Dr. Reeves brings a wealth of experience in educational leadership and operations, with a strong focus on supporting student success. A longtime member of the Alma community, he returns to the district with a deep commitment to its continued success and a strong understanding of its traditions and values.
“I’m excited to have Dr. Reeves as part of our district-level administrative team,” said Kevin Hesslen, Superintendent-Elect. “His institutional knowledge and pride in wearing the ‘A’ will make him a great addition to the district. I look forward to seeing the impact Dr. Reeves has on the district's students and staff. It’s great to have him return to the Alma School District.”
Having served Alma Public Schools for two decades as a teacher, coach, and administrator, Dr. Reeves brings a deep understanding of the district and strong relationships with students, staff, and the community. He is currently serving as Superintendent of Mountainburg Public Schools and previously held leadership roles within Alma Public Schools, including Assistant Principal at both Alma High School and Alma Middle School.
He earned his Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University, along with additional advanced degrees and certifications in school leadership and administration. Dr. Reeves has been recognized statewide for his leadership, including being named the 2023 Arkansas Assistant Principal of the Year.
“I’m incredibly excited for the opportunity to come home to Alma and serve as Assistant Superintendent of Operations,” said Dr. Reeves. “Alma holds a special place in my heart, and I’m honored to work alongside Mr. Hesslen and so many outstanding people I’ve had the privilege of knowing throughout my 22 years in education. Alma is a truly special community with a deep tradition of excellence - not only in academics, athletics, and the arts, but in all aspects of life. I’m grateful for the opportunity to give back and to build upon that tradition of excellence for our students and families.”
As Assistant Superintendent of Operations, Dr. Reeves will focus on aligning district systems, resources, and operations to support high levels of teaching and learning across all campuses. His background in financial management, operational oversight, and strategic planning positions him well to help guide the district forward.
Alma Public Schools is excited to welcome Dr. Reeves back to the Airedale family and looks forward to the leadership and vision he will bring to the district.
