Bell to Bell No Cell

Starting with the 2025–2026 school year, the Arkansas Bell to Bell, No Cell Act will be enforced in all public schools, including Alma School District. This new law prohibits students from using personal electronic devices during the entire school day — from the first bell to the last.

What You Need to Know

  • No device use during school hours: Students may not use cell phones, smartwatches, tablets, or laptops during class time.

  • Exceptions:Limited exceptions are allowed for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), extracurricular activities, and emergencies.

  • District Policy: Alma School District is updating its electronic device policy to comply with this law. Once finalized, our updated policy will be published in the Alma Student Handbook and the handbook posted on our website before the start of the 2025–2026 school year.

Why This Change?

The goal of the Bell to Bell, No Cell Act is to reduce distractions and create a better learning environment for all students.
