Beginning with the 2025-2026 school year, every student in the Alma School District will be eligible to receive one free breakfast each school day, thanks to a new statewide initiative outlined in Act 123 of 2025. This benefit is available to all students, regardless of household income or eligibility for other meal programs.
The goal of the program is to help ensure students start the day with the fuel they need to succeed. Research shows that a healthy breakfast improves focus, energy levels, and classroom performance.
School breakfast offers several key benefits:
It's fast and nutritious
It boosts focus and energy
It provides a chance to connect with friends before class
This initiative is part of Arkansas's broader effort to reduce food insecurity and improve student readiness across the state. Alma School District encourages all families to take advantage of this opportunity.
Start the day strong - eat school breakfast!
