Alma's seventh-grade team rolls, 44-6

FOOTBALL — Hagen Goodwin scored on runs of 70, 25, and 46 yards on Thursday to power the Alma seventh-grade football team to a 44-6 rout of Farmington. 

Goodwin finished with 141 yards and also had a two-point conversion run. 

The unbeaten Airedales also got a pair of touchdowns from Hudson Daily, who scored on runs of 15 and 16 yards. He also had three two-point conversion runs. 

The Airedales finished with 241 yards. 

Brantley Martin threw a 19-yard touchdown pass and completed 4-of-5 passes for 48 yards. He also added an interception return for a touchdown for the unbeaten Airedales. 

Volleyball 

Ah Lea Henson and Breella Hughes combined for 13 kills to pace the Lady Airedales to a 25-22, 25-22, 25-21 sweep of Russellville in 5A-West play. 

Henson had a team-high seven kills for Alma (8-15, 3-9). 

Chloe Gregory and Maggie Brogan finished with four and three kills, respectively. 

Cross Country 

Alma senior Neveah Kangas took first place at the Pottsville Invitational with a time of 20:02.73. 

Teammates Elena Frantzen, Jasmine Martin, and Tori Muszanski finished eighth, 11th, and 13th, respectively. 

Aleeze Williams, Zoey Kangas, and Sarah Grimmet placed 19th, 22nd, and 23rd, respectively. 

For the boys, Samuel Haig and Caleb Boen placed 11th and 16th, respectively, at Pottsville. 

Trace Muszanski and Wyatt Brister finished 20th and 23rd, and teammate Brayden Standley was 31st.
