Greenbrier senior Enoch Assan did most of his damage in the second half of last week’s win over Farmington.

This week, Assan ran for 202 yards and five touchdowns to pace the unbeaten Panthers to a 56-27 win over the Alma Airedales in 5A-West play.

The 5-foot-8, 195-pounder scored from 31 yards on the second play of Greenbrier’s night, after taking the previous play 36 yards. The two-play, 67-yard march set the tone for the high-powered Panthers.

Assan scored twice more in the first quarter on runs of 17 and 14 yards.

Alma sophomore quarterback Jay Lemieux threw for a career-high 305 yards and three touchdowns in a losing effort. His 29-yard strike to Dylan Jackson capped an eight-play, 76-yard march for the Airedales on the opening possession.

It marks just the eighth time an Alma quarterback has passed for 300 yards in a game.
