ALMA, Ark. - September 17, 2026 - Alma School District is proud to announce that it has improved from a “B” to an “A” under Arkansas’ school accountability system.
Alma High School and Alma Middle School both maintained their “A” ratings - an achievement that reflects the sustained commitment of their students, educators and staff. Alma Intermediate School and Alma Primary School also demonstrated significant progress, with both campuses improving from a “C” to a “B.”
With these results, every Alma School District campus now holds an “A” or “B” rating.
The Arkansas Department of Education uses an A–F letter-grade system to provide families and communities with a clear measure of school performance. Under the state’s accountability formula, schools are evaluated in key areas of student success, including academic achievement, student growth and readiness. The achievement component - which accounts for one-third of the formula - measures the percentage of students demonstrating proficiency or above on state assessments.
Moving an entire district from a “B” to an “A,” maintaining “A” ratings at two campuses and improving ratings at two others represent meaningful accomplishments made possible by the combined efforts of students, teachers, staff members, administrators and families.
Alma School District celebrates this achievement while remaining focused on continued growth and providing every student with the support and opportunities needed to succeed.
