Host an International Student
Student Descriptions
Lois from France
Lois will be a senior at Alma High School next year. He is from France, and his parents are originally from Madagascar. Lois enjoys staying active and loves all sports—especially football, soccer, and karate. He is a strong student and is excited about the opportunity to become part of your family.
Here’s what Lois shared about himself:
“Outside of sports, I enjoy listening to music—especially French and American rap—collecting sneakers, and playing video games with my friends. These hobbies help me relax and connect with others who share my interests. My biggest dream is to become an airline pilot, and speaking fluent English is essential to achieving that goal. This is one of the main reasons I want to spend my senior year in the United States. Beyond improving my English, I’m excited to experience American culture firsthand by living with a host family. I’ve always been fascinated by American life through movies, music, and social media, and I look forward to discovering everyday life, traditions, school spirit, and family values.”
Bego from Italy
Bego will be a senior this year and comes from Italy. She is very organized and enjoys planning ahead. Bego is excited about the opportunity to be part of a host family and share her culture while learning about yours.
Here’s what she shared about herself:
“I would describe myself as a friendly, open-minded, caring, and responsible person. I enjoy being around people and creating positive connections, whether with friends, family, or new people I’ve just met. In my free time, I like watching documentaries or series, especially those that help me learn something new or see the world from different perspectives. I also love discovering new places, going for walks, and enjoying simple moments. One of my creative hobbies is painting, which helps me relax and express myself. I also really enjoy food and trying new flavors. Cooking is something I find very fun, especially when I can prepare a meal myself and share it with others. I think food is a great way to bring people together and learn about different cultures.”
