Alma Primary School kindergarten students welcomed some very special guests today as several classes celebrated Grandparents Day! Students and their grandparents enjoyed cookies, conversation and time together. We loved seeing so many sweet moments and smiling faces, with more celebrations to come tomorrow!

A familiar tradition is returning for the 2026 Alma High School Homecoming Parade! Join us Monday, September 21, at 6:00 p.m. as the parade begins on Main Street and heads down Fayetteville Avenue, bringing back the route many may remember from years past. Participants will return via Spring Street to their assembly and dismissal areas.

Several kindergarten classes at Alma Primary School welcomed special visitors this afternoon as members of the Airedale varsity basketball team stopped by to read with students! The players will return this spring, when the roles will reverse and the kindergarteners will get to read to them. We love seeing our students connect across campuses!

Paula Crabtree and Lawanna Gill of the Crawford County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee presented a generous donation to support Jack Snacks, benefiting students at Alma Primary School and Alma Intermediate School. APS Principal Shawn Bullard and AIS Principal Jennifer Lyon accepted the check on behalf of their schools. The committee also celebrated Alma High School student and Alma FFA President Hailey Kelly as the very first Crawford County Ag Student of the Month! Nominated by teachers Cara Willmon and Courtney Hicks, Hailey was recognized for her outstanding leadership and hard work. Congratulations, Hailey, and thank you to the Farm Bureau Women’s Committee for supporting Alma students!
Today, Alma School District pauses to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, honor the courage and sacrifice of so many, and reflect on the unity that brought our nation together. We will never forget.
Reminder: Alma School District will be closed tomorrow, Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. Classes and regular district operations will resume Tuesday, September 8. We hope our students, staff, and families enjoy a safe and relaxing holiday!

As part of Alma School District’s Purple Star Program, Alma Primary School and Alma Intermediate School are teaming up to sponsor a care package drive for members of the 142nd Field Artillery Brigade, Arkansas National Guard, who are currently deployed.
Families may donate snacks, personal-care items, games, festive socks, handwritten cards and other useful items from September 15 through October 15. Donations can be dropped off at APS or AIS and will be delivered in time for Christmas.
Let’s show these brave men and women that their service and sacrifice are appreciated - and that they are remembered and supported back home!

1971, 1972, 1974, 1962, 1958, 1951, 1949, and all years from 1947 and earlier.
If you have one of these yearbooks to donate or temporarily lend, please contact Alma School District or drop it off at the Administration Building.
