At last night’s school board meeting, we had the privilege of further recognizing our campus Teachers of the Year. Principals took a moment to share what makes these educators such valuable members of their school communities and the impact they have on students each day.
Congratulations to our outstanding honorees:
• Alma High School: Michele Ikenberry
• Alma Middle School: Keith Reeves
• Alma Intermediate School: Jennifer Anderson
• Alma Primary School: Tiffany Gregory
Each of these educators represents the dedication and care that can be found in classrooms across the district, and we are proud to celebrate the difference they make for Alma students.
In addition, Alma Middle School was recognized for its recent redesignation as an Arkansas Diamond School to Watch. This honor highlights the school’s strong commitment to academic achievement, student growth, and creating a positive and supportive learning environment for all students.

SLIME TIME took over Alma Primary School on Friday!
This annual favorite brought lots of excitement (and a little extra noise!) to the halls as students cheered on the Slime a Teacher event. Even better - every dollar raised goes directly toward new PE equipment for our APS students.
Fun, laughter, and a great cause… that’s a win-win for our Airedales! 💚

Friday night’s final home basketball game was one to remember! Alma High celebrated our seniors on Senior Night, Alma Cheer welcomed Pre-K–2 students for the Alma Primary Spirit Clinic, and 3rd-grade champs joined the court at halftime for some fun. A night full of Airedale pride and smiles! Check out the District Facebook page for more pictures.🏀💛🎉
The Alma Primary School Pre-K classes had a special visitor this morning! Ms. Megan from Urrutia Family Dental visited as part of a special learning experience connected to their Health & Safety and Community Helpers units, teaching students about dental health and how to keep the “sugar bugs” away. Each student also received a brand new toothbrush to take home. Thank you for making learning fun and helping our students build healthy habits! 🦷✨

🎶❄️ This week in music, students are moving to the beat by “ice skating”! Using paper plates as skates, our students glided along as they learned through music and movement. Pictured are Mrs. Ray’s 2nd-grade class and Mrs. Sanders’ Pre-K — having a blast on their imaginary ice! ⛸️✨

❤️ Celebrating the Heart of Alma: National School Counseling Week ❤️
From February 2–6, we are shining a well-deserved spotlight on our incredible school counselors! These dedicated professionals do so much more than just "give advice" - they are the listeners, the problem-solvers, and the constant cheerleaders for our students.
Whether they are helping an Airedale navigate a tough day or planning for a big future, their impact stays with our students forever.
AHS: Tawnya Shelton, Megan Reese, and Mychel Medina
AMS: Rhonda Jones and Becky Lowrey
AIS: Kristin Wagner

Our Primary and Intermediate students are making strong gains in literacy as classrooms continue to focus on targeted reading instruction. Teachers are utilizing Lexia to meet students where they are and support individualized learning needs. Students can also access Lexia at home using their school login, extending learning beyond the classroom.
The displays featured throughout our buildings highlight student progress and Lexia levels as learners build essential literacy skills each day. We are proud of the hard work and growth happening across our schools—this is Literacy in Action!
