Spring Break is just ONE week away! All campuses & district offices will be closed during the break. Students & staff return on Monday, March 31st. Enjoy your time off!

Our community and staff made Read Across America Week unforgettable by sharing stories as guest readers at Alma Primary School and Alma Intermediate School! It was amazing to see students engaged and excited as books came to life. Huge thanks to everyone who participated and helped inspire a love of reading! Check out our Facebook page for more photos.

On Monday evening, the students of Alma Intermediate School put on an amazing show under the direction of Mrs. Walden. The "Triple the Fun" concert featured a variety of performances. Our 4th graders journeyed through Arkansas history and celebrated the beauty of our state through song. The AIS Honor Choir wowed the crowd with renditions of "Turn, Turn, Turn," "Give Us Hope," and "Blue Suede Shoes" (with Elvis impersonators adding an extra touch of fun!). Meanwhile, our 5th graders rocked the Flutophone concert, performing "Mary Had a Little Lamb," "Ode to Joy" (the school song), and "Batman." It was a night full of music, learning, and fun! A big thank you to Mrs. Walden and all her helpers for their direction and leadership in making this event possible.

Kickoff for Read Across America Week! We’re excited to celebrate all things reading with our students! The goal of Read Across America Week is to inspire young readers, promote literacy, celebrate diversity, and build a sense of community. Today, Mrs. Hall’s 3rd grade class at Alma Intermediate School kicked things off with a special guest – Dr. Duffie, who read "Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You?" What a fun way to start the week! It’s going to be a week full of joy, learning, and fun!

Alma Intermediate School has been celebrating Random Acts of Kindness Week! School counselor Mrs. Wagner gave each classroom a Top Secret Kindness Mission to spread positivity across the campus. Mrs. Yates' class took their mission to the playground, covering the basketball courts with uplifting messages for everyone to see. "We wanted students to feel encouraged while playing, so we chose messages that would brighten their day," shared Mrs. Yates. Kindness is contagious — let’s keep it going! #KindnessWeek #SpreadPositivity

The Alma School District is making great progress with the Alma Forward 2040 initiative. As part of this effort, we are working to craft a new mission statement or slogan that embodies the district's values and vision. Staff members were invited to share their input, and this week, teacher representatives from each campus participated in a focused workshop to refine the ideas. During the session, the group reviewed various components of the Alma Forward 2040 initiative, identifying key words that resonate with our mission. They then worked in two teams to develop slogans of eight words or less based on these concepts. Through further discussion, the focus was narrowed to statements of six words or less. Each team selected their top two statements, and the group voted to determine the final two slogans to present to the entire staff for consideration. The next step will be a staff-wide vote, and we’re eager to share the final outcome with the public soon. In the meantime, check out our teachers collaborating on this meaningful project!

Slam Dunk Storytime was a slam dunk success, nearly tripling in size at Tuesday night’s varsity basketball games! The energy was off the charts, and we’re pumped to keep the excitement going. Huge shoutout to Alma Primary School Media Specialist Amanda Shores for being our MVP guest reader — she totally rocked it! 🏀📚🎉
