
The Alma School District Office of Special Education is extending an invitation to private schools and homeschool parents residing within the Alma boundary to attend an informational session concerning the delivery of special education and related services.

The March board meeting, initially canceled due to severe weather, has been rescheduled for Thursday, April 4th at 6 pm. The regular April board meeting will proceed as planned on April 11th at 6 pm.

Tonight's school board meeting is canceled because of the upcoming severe weather conditions. We will arrange a new date and provide you with the details of the rescheduled meeting soon.

Spring Break reminder! March 18th to March 22nd is designated as Spring Break, with students scheduled to resume classes on Monday, March 25th.

UPDATED SCHOOL CALENDAR / Following state approval, we will switch to the alternative calendar for the rest of this academic year. By using the hourly model, we can prevent adding the 4 remaining snow days to the end of the year. These days will be covered by our current instructional time. Currently, the school year will conclude on Friday, May 24, 2024.


Coach Murray's dedication and passion for coaching have not gone unnoticed, as she has been recognized for her outstanding contributions to fall sports by AHSCA 2023-24. Alma Middle School Student Honored with Diamond Award at State Capitol / During the Alternative Education Leadership Day at the Arkansas State Capitol on Tuesday, February 13, Alma Middle School student Shana Householder was presented with the Diamond Award. Shana, recognized for her resilience and determination in overcoming personal challenges, was nominated by her teachers, Mr. Ryan Hargis and Mrs. Meredith Brown. Attending the event with Shana were Mr. Hargis (AMS teacher), Mrs. Brown (AIS teacher), Landon Whitney (classmate), and Jennifer Carter (mother).

After thorough evaluation and consideration, we are happy to announce that Alma School District will be open tomorrow, Friday, January 19, 2024, on a regular school schedule with no delayed start. Bus routes A, B, and C will be modified and the affected families will be contacted by the Transportation Department. While we prioritize your safety, we ask that you take any necessary precautions and travel with care. We appreciate your patience and understanding during these times.
