At the April school board meeting, we proudly celebrated several outstanding individuals for their dedication and contributions to the Alma School District. Rebecca Tate, from Alma Intermediate School, was recognized for her exceptional work as a teacher and special education provider. She creates an environment where students feel loved, confident, and empowered — making an immeasurable impact on our community. Ann Price, from Alma Middle School, was honored for her unwavering commitment as an exceptional science teacher and Yearbook sponsor. Her leadership and dedication continue to make a lasting difference in the lives of our students. From Alma High School, science teachers Jerry Kelley, Brian Curd, Jeana Parker, and Robert Pham were recognized for their incredible support of the Alma High School Science Fair. Their passion and dedication have inspired students and played a key role in the success of this important academic event. In addition, school board members Barret Ewing, Dustin Hughes, and Sean Brister were recognized for achieving at least 50 hours of board development training through the Arkansas School Board Association — a testament to their ongoing commitment to serving our district with excellence. Amazing things are always happening in the Alma School District, and we cherish these opportunities to celebrate the people who help make our schools shine. Congratulations to all!
Ten 8th grade girls from Alma Middle School had an incredible experience at the Girls of Promise Conference in Little Rock! Out of over 25 AMS applicants, 12 were accepted to attend this inspiring event focused on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math). Big thanks to Mrs. McCarver for leading the way and to Women's Foundation of Arkansas for empowering the next generation of women in STEAM!

On March 12, the Alma Middle School Choir competed at the Choral Performance Assessment (CPA) in Van Buren, earning Superior ratings and bringing home a plaque! This event serves as both a state assessment and a competition against schools from across the region, including tough 7A opponents. Science in Action at Alma Middle School! Ms. Dooley’s enrichment students had a sweet time making homemade ice cream while learning about physical and chemical changes! From freezing the mixture to watching ingredients react, this hands-on activity made science cool and delicious!

He’s set to be inducted into the Arkansas High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame, and we’re throwing a celebration in his honor! Alma High School was buzzing with excitement as we hosted the 5A West Junior High Regional Tournament! Both our 9th grade Quiz Bowl team and Alma Middle School (7th/8th grade) team brought their A-game, competing with skill and determination. Shoutout to Michael Linimon for earning All-Tournament honors — way to go! It was an awesome experience for our Quiz Bowl players, filled with fun, teamwork, and brainpower. Huge thanks to Mr. Bridges for always going the extra mile to support our students and make events like Quiz Bowl unforgettable!
